Tuscany Villas at Painted Mountain in Mesa AZ is a “lock and leave” low-maintenance community of townhomes and patio homes surrounding the Painted Mountain Golf Course. It was originally planned as a high-end townhome community, and the early homes were larger, including several two-story plans, and sold for $350,000 – $450,000. The original builder ended up going bankrupt in the housing crash of 2009-2011, and Blandford Homes bought the subdivision out of foreclosure. Blandford had an entirely different marketing plan, and offered much smaller, inexpensive homes. They relaunched the community with a new set of floor plans and pricing starting in the $150’s. The inexpensive homes, in a gated community with nice clubhouse and pool, surrounding a golf course, and close to all conveniences were a huge success, especially since this was at a time when the Canadian dollar was almost par with the American dollar.
The homes sold like hotcakes, and a very high percentage of Canadian buyers bought homes here. Home prices are much higher now, but this is a great little community, especially for snowbirds or people that don’t want or need a large home here in Arizona.
Not that much comes up for sale here, so if you’re interested in homes for sale at Tuscany Villas, I recommend having me put you on a “hot list” notification for new listings. Just give me a call or send me an email.
